Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can self-renew and differentiate into specialized cell types, holding immense potential for regenerative medicine. These cells can be classified into embryonic and adult stem cells, each with unique properties and applications. Potential stem cells are classified into five kinds based on differentiation: totipotent, pluripotent, multipotent, oligopotent, and unipotent. Our brains, bones, muscles, nerves, blood, skin, and other organs depend on them for growth, development, maintenance, and repair. With numerous health advantages. Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent, capable of differentiating into any cell type, while adult stem cells are multipotent, with limited differentiation potential. Stem cells have been explored for treating various diseases, including diabetes, liver disease, muscular dystrophy, and cardiovascular disorders. Stem cell-based therapies have shown promise in preclinical and clinical trials, offering potential treatments for currently incurable conditions. However, challenges persist, including ensuring safety, efficacy, and scalability. Further research is needed to overcome these hurdles and fully harness the therapeutic potential of stem cells.
