The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the fragility of global supply chains, forcing organizations to rethink forecasting and operational resilience under unprecedented disruption. This study, examines how artificial intelligence (AI) reshaped demand planning, supply synchronization, and recovery strategies during and after the pandemic. It explores the transition from static, enterprise resource planning (ERP)-driven systems to adaptive, data-intelligent architectures capable of real-time scenario planning and disruption recovery. Machine learning models applied across supplier networks, logistics flows, and demand signals demonstrated superior responsiveness in anticipating shortages, reallocating resources, and optimizing On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) performance metrics. By integrating predictive analytics with dynamic feedback mechanisms, AI-enabled forecasting systems enhanced visibility, reduced lead time variability, and supported agile decision-making across critical sectors such as healthcare and consumer goods. These systems proved particularly effective in detecting supply bottlenecks and shaping demand through continuous learning loops based on real-time market and transportation data. The analysis advances a new framework for post-crisis forecasting one that is decentralized, disruption-adaptive, and demand-sensing. This architecture leverages federated learning, cloud-based analytics, and probabilistic modeling to enable organizations to respond fluidly to volatility while sustaining operational efficiency. The findings underscore how AI-driven predictive analytics have not only optimized performance metrics but also institutionalized resilience as a strategic design principle within global supply chain networks.
