Background: In the past, histological and histochemical stains were useful, but more precise and sensitive histopathological techniques are now employed to provide accurate diagnoses. These techniques include the use of immunohistochemical markers for various hepatic tissue components. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a useful diagnostic technique that produces great results for both normal tissues and tissues with various pathological insults when examining histopathological alterations in various bodily tissues.
Objective: In this study, we will move to examine classic histological and histochemical stains used for hepatic sections reaching to discussing the many immunohistochemical markers that are often utilized for detection of different histopathological liver disorders.
Conclusion: The use of two or more immunohistochemical markers improves the accuracy of the liver problem's detection, and the combination of histochemical stains with immunohistochemistry markers can occasionally be helpful for confirming diagnosis. There are numerous more instruments and methods used to investigate the pathology of the liver, even though these stains and markers are helpful for examining hepatic tissue.
